UPDATE (Aug. 28, 2026): Due to material delays, the ramps scheduled to reopen at the I-215 and I-80 interchange on Friday have been delayed until Saturday, Aug. 29, in the early afternoon.
Closures and reopenings will affect I-215, SR-201 and Legacy Parkway
SALT LAKE CITY (Aug. 27, 2026) — The Utah Department of Transportation is encouraging drivers to plan ahead for several ramp closures and reopenings in Salt Lake and Davis counties over the coming days.
From 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, to 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, the Park Lane on-ramp to southbound Legacy Parkway in Farmington will close for pedestrian bridge work. This closure is part of the Shepard Lane Improved project, which is building a new interchange at Shepard Lane in Farmington and improving pedestrian and bicycle connections at Park Lane. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Then, on Monday, Aug. 31, at 4 a.m., the northbound I-215 off-ramp to California Avenue in Salt Lake City will close for bridge work. The closure will last for approximately 35 days. The Redwood Road on-ramp to northbound I-215 at the same interchange remains closed through July 2027.
Drivers using the I-215 and I-80 interchange can also expect three ramps to reopen on Saturday, Aug. 29, in the early afternoon:
- Northbound I-215 to westbound I-80, a primary route to Salt Lake City International Airport (Exit 22)
- Northbound I-215 to eastbound I-80 (Exit 22)
- Northbound I-215 to Redwood Road
This work is part of the I-215 West Improved project, which is repaving multiple sections of I-215, replacing 18 bridge decks and repairing 12 additional bridges. Work is estimated to wrap up in late summer 2027.
Additionally, on Monday, Aug. 31, from 1 to 4 a.m., drivers should expect the eastbound SR-201 ramp to southbound I-215 (Exit 15A) to close for pavement-grinding work.
